Dave Smith

Dave Smith joined Instilled Products Incorporated in 1986 after he graduated from Ball State University, where he studied engineering and architecture. He managed plant operations and order fulfilment until Bison Inc. acquired IPI in 2012 and relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, Smith followed. He now is a Project Team Director and manages his team of designers and technical service staff. An avid bowler with multiple 300 games to his credit. Dave plays a major role in IPI’s success.

Dan Shaw

Dan Shaw

Dan Shaw joined IPI by Bison in February 2017 and brought with him many years of experience in gym equipment design, production, marketing, and dealer development and training. Prior to entering the industry, Shaw attended West Point Military Academy. He has previously worked for Jaypro Sports and Spalding, while also working with the NBA and NCAA. Shaw’s role, as a Business Development Agent, with IPI by Bison is focused on multiple operational facets with a heavy emphasis on dealer development and recruitment.

Lee Ramirez

Lee Ramirez

Lee Ramirez has more than 20 years of experience as an international sales manager in the sports equipment industry and is representing IPI by Bison outside the United States. In many cases he will be working through dealers and distributors, but in some cases, he may be working directly with facilities, government agencies or contractors. Ramirez speaks fluent Spanish and is able to assist in Spanish speaking countries. Ramirez also has an engineering background he uses to expand opportunities internationally for IPI by Bison equipment.

Iman Salafian

Iman Salafian

Iman Salafian joined IPI in August 2017 in an intern position that gave him an opportunity to develop a new, more efficient method to provide submittals on IPI projects. Iman earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in Iran, his Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and is working on a PHD in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Iman played professional volleyball in high school and today enjoys playing volleyball, camping, and spending time outdoors.

IPI by Bison welcomed Aryssa Borrenpohl, Project Designer, to the team in March 2020. She’s a native of Beatrice, Nebraska, and recently graduated from Southeast Community College with an applied associate’s degree in manufacturing engineering. She comes from a family where sports is a big deal and enjoys working for IPI because it incorporates her love for sports with her job. As a project designer, Borrenpohl creates drawings for gymnasiums and works out how required equipment will be integrated into the building based on specs provided.

Jose Ramirez

As IPI by Bison continues to grow, we continue to add staff to meet the demands of our dealers and their clients. Jose Ramirez, Project Designer, joined the team on September 1. A native of Grand Island, Nebraska, Ramirez attended Southeast Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where he studied drafting and design. He received an associates degree in drafting and design technology. Ramirez stumbled across the open position at IPI through an online job ad and the rest is history. He currently creates 3D models of IPI sports equipment as well as drawings for dealers and installers so they can install the systems they order. “Everyone here at IPI by Bison is really nice and friendly,” Ramirez said. “They made the transition as smooth as possible.” Outside of work, he enjoys working on cars. A 2004 single cab Silverado is one of the project vehicles he’s had a lot of fun working on.

Adam Riekenberg

Adam Riekenberg, Project Designer, joined the team April 25. A native of Beatrice, Nebraska, Adam lived there until he moved to Manhattan, Kansas, to attend Kansas State University. He studied mechanical engineering there for a year before transferring to Washburn Institute of Technology where he earned an associates degree in Drafting and Design. He is finishing up his last year of school through Southeast Community College in Lincoln. “I was intrigued by the combination of drafting and sports,” he said. He now designs and creates working drawings of backstop mounts and assemblies. He enjoys the laid back and relaxed environment that he works in as well as his coworkers. Outside of work, he enjoys lifting weights, working on cars and spending time enjoying the outdoors with friends.
